We&#8217;ve heard all this before.\u00a0 It happens every time after you have traveled.\u00a0 We KNOW how much your little homebody&#8230; loves to be be back at your little home.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It is truer than true.<\/p>\n<p>But I am thinking of a different piece of this tonight.\u00a0 I always thought I was such a homebody, because I had such a great home when I was growing up.\u00a0 Wonderful parents, some really great siblings, a good house in a fun neighborhood.\u00a0 It was safe, and warm, and stable&#8230; and boy oh boy&#8230; the cooking was good.<\/p>\n<p>For me that just spelled the big reason for my homebody-ness.<\/p>\n<p>But then I had a conversation with someone today about another homebody.\u00a0\u00a0 Except their childhood was not so good.\u00a0\u00a0 The &#8220;family&#8221; turned out to be not\u00a0 much of a family at all.\u00a0 The mom and dad didn&#8217;t sound so kind.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Yet&#8230;. this person grew up to be a good person&#8230; BUT a homebody too.<\/p>\n<p>So.\u00a0 It appears people love to be at peace with, and in their homes, for a lot of different reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Others can&#8217;t stand to be at home for a minute.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t have any guesses about any of this.<\/p>\n<p>All I really have to say is that I am happy to be here.\u00a0 At home.\u00a0 In my own bed.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 With the ones I love.\u00a0 In the space and the place that means more to me than any other grand location in the world.\u00a0 No matter the reason.<\/p>\n<p>And&#8230; I&#8217;m happy that no one minded too much when I stood up in the middle of the plane&#8230;. in mid-air&#8230; and started belting out that &#8220;I believe I can fly.&#8221; song by R. Kelly.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sure.\u00a0 Oh sure.\u00a0 The flight attendant escorted me back to my seat&#8230; but not before I got in a few rounds of the chorus&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p>Yeah.\u00a0 But\u00a0 no one stopped my in my living room&#8230; when I sang &#8220;Home, Home on the Range&#8221; tonight.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>No wonder I am a homebody.\u00a0 No wonder.<span style=\"font-family: georgia,bookman old style,palatino linotype,book antiqua,palatino,trebuchet ms,helvetica,garamond,sans-serif,arial,verdana,avante garde,century gothic,comic sans ms,times,times new roman,serif;\">The light is what guides you home, the warmth is what keeps you there. ~Ellie Rodriguez<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tonight I am thinking about home.\u00a0 I know, I know.\u00a0\u00a0 You are sitting there hollering at the computer screen &#8230;. &#8220;Dag nab it, Polly.
