Today, I spent most of my time at the ball fields.\u00a0 Watching those Ohio Cardinals Softball Team win three great games.<\/p>\n

But there were a lot of different people there.\u00a0 We converged on that same place.\u00a0 And it made me think about all the people in the world who I will never meet… or even know of.<\/p>\n

Of course, that, in turn, makes me feel very blessed and fortunate to have the friends I have.\u00a0 I haven’t seen many of these fine folks in a while.\u00a0 We mostly gather for these ball tournaments, and such.\u00a0\u00a0 But every time, it is like we fall right back comfortably…. where we left off.<\/p>\n

And would’t you know.\u00a0 This silly brain of mine…. saw a few things today…. which remind me of my friends.<\/p>\n

First I saw a pile of peanut shells.\u00a0\u00a0 Now those…. are the nuts.\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 The ones who are just a little one the goofy side, smiling, joking, and having fun.\u00a0 They come out of their shells pretty easily.\u00a0 They can be salty.\u00a0 Some can be tough to crack.\u00a0 But those nuts are good nuts.\u00a0 I am glad for them.<\/p>\n

While at the diamonds, I took notice of how the fence was put together.\u00a0 This reminds me of friends who are like the anchors and the hardware… that hold the world together.\u00a0 They are strong, and tried and true.\u00a0 Our friendships fit together, just like the threads that match up between a bolt and a nut.\u00a0 I am especially glad for them too.<\/p>\n

Finally… I walked by a lot of trees today.\u00a0 And there are friends which are a little like pine cones.\u00a0 Mostly, they are sitting quietly, in the waiting.\u00a0 They are always sturdy, natural, and as down to earth as can be.\u00a0 Each one incredibly unique.\u00a0 They have many, many layers…. each layer fitting perfectly together, to make the whole of the parts.\u00a0\u00a0 I am always so glad for them.\u00a0 Just the site of them brings me joy.<\/p>\n

Yes, no matter where I looked today, I was reminded of the great people in my life…. my friends.\u00a0 I am so very glad for\u00a0 all these friends.\u00a0 No matter the who, the why , or the what of them.\u00a0\u00a0 For true friends can come in many different ways.\u00a0 And I will forever hold them dearly in my heart….. for that always feels like the right way.<\/p>\n
