\"Chicken\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Everything turned out exactly, positively, as expected.<\/p>\n

You don’t hear this very often.\u00a0 And if you do hear it… maybe you should take it with a grain of salt.\u00a0 Does anything ever turn out exactly as we expect?<\/p>\n

Sure, things can go very well… or very poorly… depending.\u00a0 But unless you are a clairvoyant, or a time-traveler….., you can never…. entirely…. expect every sequence of events.<\/p>\n

Okay.\u00a0 Okay.\u00a0 Let’s say you baked a Bacon, Spinach and Cheddar Quiche.\u00a0 And it turned out swimmingly.\u00a0 Yummy.\u00a0 Perfect-o Mund-o.\u00a0 But did everything really go as you expected?\u00a0 Did you really mean to crack that third egg, and have a few of the shells fall into the bowl…. only to have to fish them out?\u00a0 Or when you were frying the bacon, did you expect the telemarketer to call you while things were a-sizzling?\u00a0 Probably not.<\/p>\n

Or…. let’s say you coach a football team.\u00a0 You won the game 21-6.\u00a0 Super duper for the good guys.\u00a0 That was the result you were looking for.\u00a0 But did you expect your quarterback to throw two interceptions?\u00a0 Or for your offense to fumble the ball on the 15 yard line late in the fourth quarter?<\/p>\n

You see.\u00a0 Most everything has an unexpected “thing” at some point or another.\u00a0 And… these have a few universal names.\u00a0 Whether it is in the kitchen, on Wall Street, in computer technology systems, or in the operating room.<\/p>\n

They can be recognized immediately, by the words coming from the person’s mouth.\u00a0 You know.\u00a0 The person who is telling you about the “unexpected thing.”<\/p>\n

……\u00a0 “We have hit a little snag.”\u00a0 … …. “There’s been a hiccup.”\u00a0 …… “We came to a little stumbling block.”\u00a0 .. …. “We hit a bump in the road.”<\/p>\n

Yes indeed.\u00a0 The old SNAFU.\u00a0 They always sprinkle sugar on these sayings… which are code words for “screwed up.”<\/p>\n

To complicate matters more… when we expect things to go a certain way… we have a tendency to count our chickens before they are hatched.\u00a0 I have learned…. never, ever… . to count your chickens until the yolks are sunny side up in the frying pan.<\/p>\n

So what is my point?\u00a0 Well.\u00a0 Life just is.\u00a0 It is…. as we know it.\u00a0 We can try our best.\u00a0 Always put our best foot forward.\u00a0 But there are times when we will trip, and fall.<\/p>\n

As the incomparable Doris Day once said… “Que Sera Sera.\u00a0 Whatever shall be, shall be.\u00a0 The future is ours to see.”<\/p>\n

So very true Doris.\u00a0 The future is ours to see…. once it gets here.\u00a0 The Quiche turns out.\u00a0 The Team wins.\u00a0 Or not.<\/p>\n

So…..\u00a0 expect what you will.\u00a0 But remember what I told you about the chickens.<\/p>\n
