Here’s the thing.
\nI am a person who likes her solitude.\u00a0 That is for sure.\u00a0 Sometimes… to a fault.\u00a0 Yet, some things don’t\u00a0 translate very well when you are unaccompanied.<\/p>\n

Playing game after game of Cornhole…. all by yourself… isn’t really all that much fun.\u00a0\u00a0 Come to think of it… a game of Darts by your little lonesome isn’t very swell either.<\/p>\n

Swimming is pretty okay in the solo form.\u00a0 I can swim and swim by myself and be happy.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But sharing stories with your shadow?\u00a0 It is not as engaging as one might imagine.<\/p>\n

Here is one to consider.
\nHow do you feel about Fish Tacos?\u00a0 I love\u00a0 a good Fish Taco.\u00a0 The first one I ever had was down in Costa Rica.\u00a0 Holy smoke-a-roly… THAT thing was GOOD.\u00a0 I wasn’t by myself when I ate it.\u00a0 Mary & I were on vacation in that country.\u00a0 It was better because we shared in the glory of the flavors.<\/p>\n

Since then… I have been on the quest for a really good Fish Taco.\u00a0 Wouldn’t you know it?\u00a0 I found one.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But not on my own.\u00a0 No, no.\u00a0 Friends helped.\u00a0 In fact… they came over and fixed those Fish Tacos.<\/p>\n

This afternoon we had a slew of friends here with us.\u00a0\u00a0 And it was fun.\u00a0 There was tennis-watching, and baseball-watching.\u00a0 Yummy Fish Taco eating, and eating and eating.\u00a0 (All the fixings.. plus, Gouda Mac’n’Cheese, Cole Slaw, Rice, Couscous Salad, Desserts out the yang…)<\/p>\n

We played Cornhole and Darts.\u00a0 We fed the Koi. We talked and shared and laughed.\u00a0 We contemplated angels, and ghosts… we shared stories about our quirky dogs.\u00a0 We speculated about the early foundations of women’s tennis.<\/p>\n

You see… all of this was better… because of friends.\u00a0 In fact, a lot of this would not have been possible without the interaction of two people.\u00a0 Or more.\u00a0 Sharing interests, and likes, and dislikes.\u00a0 All the ups and all the downs.<\/p>\n

So many of those friends bring happiness to my life.\u00a0 And I am grateful for this.\u00a0\u00a0 Some bring that joy in the form of Fish Tacos.\u00a0 And I am grateful for this too.<\/p>\n

And the biggest observation for the night… is this.
\nWhen playing 301 in Darts….. If you can see the feathers…. don’t count your chickens before they are hatched.\u00a0\u00a0 Simply seeing the feathers doesn’t count.\u00a0 Especially when the light is bad.<\/p>\n

And the point to all of this… is that it is ALL so much better with friends.<\/p>\n
