It is all one big connected ball of yarn.\u00a0 A whole bunch of jumbled wires… intertwined and crisscrossing every which way… but loose.\u00a0 Yes… this universe, this existence of our…. is a interwoven screen door.\u00a0\u00a0 I’ll give you an example.\u00a0 Take today’s date. … this August 28th.<\/p>\n

And so it begins……with …. the oldest city in the United States.\u00a0 It was established on this date. It happened way back in 1565.\u00a0 And the place?\u00a0 St. Augustine, Florida.<\/p>\n

Now… it was named in honor of Augustine of Hippo…. who is better known as Saint Augustine.\u00a0 He was an early Christian theologian and philosopher.\u00a0 Not only that….he was the bishop of Hippo Regius.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This area is now Algeria, Africa…..\u00a0 His memorial is celebrated on 28 August, the day of his death.\u00a0 Yeppers…. today’s date.<\/p>\n

He is the patron saint of brewers, of barrels, printers, theologians, the alleviation of sore eyes, and a number of cities.\u00a0 Go to Florida, and you will find this out.<\/p>\n

Okay, now here is the kicker.\u00a0 Same date, August 28th, but in 1837.\u00a0 While most other pharmacists were tinkering around with cocaine and such…. those brilliant Pharmacists John Wheeley Lea & William Henry Perrins manufactured Worcestershire Sauce. (Mostly out of vinegar, molasses, salt, and tamarind… Tamarind… a tree found in Algeria.\u00a0 Africa.)<\/p>\n

They first concocted the recipe… and didn’t like it so much.\u00a0 So the stuff sat around in barrels.\u00a0\u00a0 About 18 months later…. somebody decided to taste it.\u00a0 And Viola’.\u00a0 We have the best dang condiment on the planet.<\/p>\n

Now.\u00a0 Let’s move on to the hippopotamaus.\u00a0 You know.\u00a0 Hippo.\u00a0 Like St. Augustine.\u00a0 Although hippos might look a little chubby, they can easily outrun a human.\u00a0 They are regarded as one of the most dangerous animals in Africa…. where they live.\u00a0 Hippopotamuses have short legs, a huge mouth and a body shaped like a barrel.\u00a0 Like a barrel.<\/p>\n

Resting in water helps keep hippopotamuses temperature down.\u00a0 Hippopotamuses give birth in water.\u00a0\u00a0 But scientists at Cal-Poly recently discovered that the prefer water which smells slightly of Worcestershire Sauce.<\/p>\n

This is ALL crazy-go-nuts… isn’t it?\u00a0 Welllllll….. isn’t it?<\/p>\n

Now if you can’t see how that is all wrapped up tight together…. I would say that you should pray to St. Augustine… for clearly you have that sore eye affliction.<\/p>\n
