I think is important that we support the Arts.\u00a0 Especially locally… Where ever your “locally” might be.\u00a0 HERE.\u00a0 It is the Preble County Art Association, and I have to say… We have a really great Art Association in this rather small community.<\/p>\n

Tonight, we attended the Oinkers for Art.\u00a0\u00a0 Which was… The Visual Arts Center of Preble County in partnership with The Preble County Pork Festival to decorate the town with ten painted stone pigs… For the upcoming community events of the Pork Festival… And such.<\/p>\n

It was great.\u00a0 Great to see the painting of the pigs… And so many talented people… Taking part in this great event.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But why do they?\u00a0 WHY?<\/p>\n

Art plays a pretty dang big part in making our lives infinitely rich.\u00a0 I am not even sure I could imagine a world without art!<\/p>\n

Art touches our brains.\u00a0 Each of us in different ways.\u00a0 It can make us laugh… Or make us angry.\u00a0 Or just about anything in\u00a0 between.<\/p>\n

It also gives each of us…. A way to be creative.. If we choose to.\u00a0 It gives us a chance to express ourselves in a variety of different ways.<\/p>\n

You many think Art is no big deal.\u00a0 But without it… Well…. Your video game would totally bite.\u00a0\u00a0 How about the box of cereal you had this morning?\u00a0 Did it have a plain brown cardboard box?\u00a0 What about your jeans, or your t-shirt…. Or consider your living room furniture?\u00a0 All influenced… and created artistically.<\/p>\n

They… (Those “they” people again)\u00a0 say that\u00a0 “Art is subjective, and means something different to every single person on earth.”\u00a0\u00a0 Well,\u00a0 this is true.\u00a0\u00a0 But there are parts of it which are objective too.<\/p>\n

And at its backbone….. ART is form, and content.<\/p>\n

Form…\u00a0\u00a0 which is mostly …\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the elements of art, the principles of design and the actual, physical materials that the artist has used.
\nContent….. wellllll….\u00a0 that can be\u00a0 a little bit tricky. Content is idea-based.\u00a0 The things like:\u00a0 What the artist meant to portray,\u00a0 what the artist actually did portray and\u00a0 how we react, as individuals, to both the intended and actual messages.\u00a0 There is more to content… But… I won’t\u00a0 blah, blah, blah you tonight.<\/p>\n

Art is a profound and wonderful thing.\u00a0 No matter how or what your view…\u00a0\u00a0 As long as you open your perspective to all that art has to offer this life.<\/p>\n
