If I were Queen of the World… or even the Czar of North America, I would come up with a few new rules.<\/p>\n

Actually, I would integrate about a gazillion new edicts…\u00a0 but these would be some of the easy-peasy-domineasy-rules…. which would take effect immediately.<\/p>\n

1. Shows like 60 Minutes would not be permitted to show reruns.\u00a0 Even in the summer time.\u00a0 Sure, I know summer time is the land of the the repeat on TV.\u00a0 But News & Reporting Shows… like 60 Minutes ought to find some schmucks around the office who will work in August.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Chalk and blackboards would forever be mandatory in classrooms.\u00a0 Kids these days have screens, and white boards, and electronic classroom devices.\u00a0 The chalkboard is becoming a thing of\u00a0 extinction.\u00a0\u00a0 I will tell you this much…. there is nothing like the smell of chalk dust in the schoolroom … or having the responsibility of cleaning the boards after school….\u00a0 Long live the chalkiness.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Along the same olfactory lines….\u00a0\u00a0 The people who make baseball cards would have to put the bubble gum back in the packs.\u00a0 They stopped putting that really hard-nasty-unchewable-piece of gum in the wrappers a few years back I guess.\u00a0 Now the baseball card smell like ink and cardboard.\u00a0 They used to smell like bubble gum.\u00a0 It was better that way.<\/p>\n

4. Everyone would have to write at least one term paper on an old fashioned typewriter.\u00a0 No corrector ribbons.\u00a0 The old hard way.\u00a0 I think this might create a greater appreciation for current technology.\u00a0 In addition … the individual\u00a0 would have to use a paperback Webster’s Dictionary all the way through.\u00a0 No iPhone app for spell check.\u00a0 They might be surprised by what they find inside that little book.<\/p>\n

5. There would be a two mandatory 5 minute silent periods each day.\u00a0 Silence and reflection.\u00a0 No talking.\u00a0 No phones, computers, or electronics.\u00a0 Five minutes of stillness and contemplation, each day… at 1:07 p.m.\u00a0 and 1:07 a.m. or something.\u00a0\u00a0 You can hit on either one… but you have to check in for one.\u00a0 It is a mere 5 minutes out of 1,440 minutes each day.<\/p>\n

6. Fried Baloney and the essential white pasty foods would be mandatory items on every restaurant breakfast menu.\u00a0 They are good for you.\u00a0 The Gluten thing is a myth for most of the population.\u00a0 Each your white bread, fried baloney, and grits.\u00a0 Joy to you and yours.<\/p>\n

7. Cow Racing would be the new National Sport, all over the world.\u00a0 There would be a World Cup of Cow Racing.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The main event would be the 100-Meter Saunter.\u00a0 The winners will surely be celebrated!\u00a0 Milk Toasts will abound.\u00a0 Cheers.\u00a0 Go Heifers.\u00a0 Stomp your hooves.\u00a0 Swing your udders like there’s no tomorrow.\u00a0 Run for the gold Bessie.\u00a0 Dream and Believe It.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (I’m telling you.\u00a0 This would catch on like hot cakes and maple syrup.)<\/p>\n
