I used to ask for signs.\u00a0\u00a0 Oh yes I did.<\/p>\n

My thought process would follow\u2026..\u00a0 \u201cPuhhhhllllleeeasssse\u2026. give me a sign \u2026. I will surely know what to do with \u201cx\u201d if only I get a sign about \u201cy\u201d\u2026. .\u201d<\/p>\n

A sign about why.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not really sure who I was asking this of, either.\u00a0 For those who believe in a God, or a Higher Power\u2026 I would think that entity has better things to do than stand around with a paint brush and a blank wooden sign\u2026 ready to construct this marker.. \u2026 at our whim, will, or wish.<\/p>\n

Then again, I could be wrong.\u00a0\u00a0 I am wrong about a lot of things.<\/p>\n

But I\u2019m not sure I believe in \u201csigns\u201d so much these days.\u00a0 I think we are supposed to figure things out with our own merits.\u00a0 Our intelligence, wits, ingenuity, planning, intentions, deeds, capabilities, and such.<\/p>\n

A bit of a segue, here.\u00a0 A bit.<\/p>\n

I was always a pretty good athlete.\u00a0 All of my life.\u00a0 Much of this I attribute to my reflexes.\u00a0 I have been blessed with some fasty fast reflexes.\u00a0 But I also have a theory about this.\u00a0 I think it carries over into the emotional side of myself.\u00a0 I react quickly to situations of the heart \u2026 sometimes without thinking.\u00a0 Often, this is not necessarily a good thing.<\/p>\n

Heck\u2026 it goes way back.<\/p>\n

Like.
\nMost newborns are totally unaware of their umbilical cords.\u00a0 But not me.\u00a0 I knew exactly where it was\u2026 grabbed it with both hands\u2026 swung around like Tarzan on a vine\u2026 and landed right in the hands of the doctor\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026 to which I yelled\u2026 \u201cLet\u2019s get this over with, man\u2026. Slap me already!\u201d<\/p>\n

Okay, okay\u2026 maybe I exaggerate a bit too.\u00a0\u00a0 But you get the idea.\u00a0\u00a0 I am a reactor.<\/p>\n

And in those situations.. I want answers to come as quickly as I am reacting.\u00a0 Hence, the signs.\u00a0 Show me now.\u00a0 An show me quick.<\/p>\n

But life doesn\u2019t work that way.\u00a0 Or…. maybe we get signs, and I am just too thick and obtuse to see them.<\/p>\n

So tonight, I was driving home and thinking about all of this\u2026.<\/p>\n

and\u2026 and\u2026 I looked up\u2026 and THERE IT WAS!\u00a0\u00a0 A SIGN.<\/p>\n

\u201cHidden Drive.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Now it all made perfect sense.\u00a0 Life is just one hidden drive, after the next.\u00a0 In fact\u2026\u00a0 it seems that life itself\u2026 is just one big hidden drive.\u00a0\u00a0 We never know what\u2019s over the next hill or around the next turn.<\/p>\n
