Fool me once\u2026. shame on you.\u00a0 Fool me twice\u2026 shame on me.<\/p>\n

Tonight I was putting chemicals in the pool.\u00a0 I looked down and saw a Honey Bee struggling near the surface of the water.\u00a0 So, I reached in and flipped the little guy out.<\/p>\n

A couple of seconds later\u2026 that little drunken sailor ambled his way back to the edge of the pool and fell in again.<\/p>\n

Dag nab it.\u00a0 I reached in again, and this time scooped him out\u2026 a little bit further from water\u2019s edge.\u00a0 The next thing I know\u2026 old bumble-head is back struggling in the water.<\/p>\n

Third time\u2019s a charm.\u00a0 I put aside my apprehension of being stung\u2026. and picked up that little Honey Bee.\u00a0 I carried him several feet from the pool, placing him near the mulched area.<\/p>\n

A little while later,\u00a0 I walked back that way.\u00a0 He was not where I had place him.\u00a0 No bee.\u00a0 That made me happy.\u00a0 Perhaps he dried off his little winged body and flew back to the hive.<\/p>\n

Wouldn’t you know?\u00a0 That dude was meandering back toward the sweet smell of chlorine and muriatic acid.\u00a0 I decided not to intervene\u2026 he was on his own.\u00a0 I mean\u2026 this could go on all night.\u00a0 Or perhaps…. he was simply wanting to do a few laps.<\/p>\n

Yet….\u00a0 I imagine tomorrow morning I will find him in the skimmer.\u00a0 And I\u2019ll feel terrible.\u00a0 But I have to remember that opening phrase.<\/p>\n

Or as George W. Bush once put it\u2026 back in 2002\u2026.\u00a0 when he was visiting Nashville, TN.\u00a0 He so aptly obscured \u2026. “There’s an old saying in Tennessee \u2014 I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee \u2014 that says, fool me once, shame on \u2014 shame on you. Fool me \u2014 you can’t get fooled again.”<\/p>\n

Which brings me to this.\u00a0 We all get fooled in life.\u00a0 In a variety of different ways\u2026. places\u2026 or circumstances\u2026<\/p>\n

I guess the important thing is to learn from our mistakes\u2026. and to try not getting stung in the process.\u00a0 Most of us can do this quietly, and in our own awareness.\u00a0 But not me…. I have to let the world know what a schmuck I am… and share it here on the The Big Can Do.<\/p>\n
