No tricks."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/max.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1359\" src=\"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/max.jpg\" alt=\"max\" width=\"700\" height=\"612\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/max.jpg 700w, https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/max-300x262.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>See Spot.\u00a0 See Spot Run.<\/p>\n<p>Well\u2026 I will tell you this much right now.\u00a0 There is a WHOLE lot more to Spot than just that.<\/p>\n<p>We have three dogs.\u00a0 No cats.\u00a0 Every evening around here\u2026 it is a Three Dog Night.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway.\u00a0 Among other things&#8230; our dogs are good old friends.<\/p>\n<p>Our dogs are smart.\u00a0\u00a0 As whips.\u00a0 They figure things out.\u00a0 They have memories.\u00a0 They have habits.\u00a0 We are trying to get Maxie to quit smoking\u2026 but habits are habits.<\/p>\n<p>Joking.\u00a0 Max doesn\u2019t smoke.\u00a0 Unless of course, you consider the smoke which comes out of her ears when she gets mad about something.\u00a0 Terrier mad.<\/p>\n<p>Now Frances\u2026 her big habit is herding.\u00a0 She likes to gather up her humans.\u00a0 So no matter where we are\u2026 she does the big loopy circle around our backs\u2026 and ushers us from any room\u2026 or area\u2026 and then right out the door.\u00a0 Herder.<\/p>\n<p>And Ollie.\u00a0 Our dear spastic Ollie.\u00a0 She is full of habits.\u00a0 One of them is TV watching.\u00a0 Our other two dogs don\u2019t even act like they can see an image in the TV.\u00a0 But Ollie watches.\u00a0 Fanatically.\u00a0 Anything from Wheel of Fortune to Meet the Press.<\/p>\n<p>Enough about habits.\u00a0 Dogs have qualities.\u00a0 Good ones.<\/p>\n<p>Our dogs are\u2026.\u00a0 in short\u2026 very good friends to us. And they have been for a long time.\u00a0 We like to hang out with one another.\u00a0 Most of the times\u2026 we communicate pretty well.\u00a0 They bring us joy\u2026. and they show us kindness.<\/p>\n<p>I am really lucky to have such good human friends in my life.\u00a0 But I am also blessed to have dog friends\u2026 who love us dearly too.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Yet&#8230;.. It is a darn good thing our &#8220;good old human&#8221; friends don&#8217;t pee on our living room carpet&#8230; like our &#8220;good old dog&#8221; friends do.\u00a0 Like I said&#8230;..\u00a0\u00a0 &#8230;.
