{"id":1333,"date":"2014-07-08T23:58:51","date_gmt":"2014-07-09T03:58:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/?p=1333"},"modified":"2014-07-09T07:38:25","modified_gmt":"2014-07-09T11:38:25","slug":"remember-the-how","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/?p=1333","title":{"rendered":"Remember&#8230; the how?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/kid.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1335\" src=\"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/kid.jpg\" alt=\"kid\" width=\"700\" height=\"506\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/kid.jpg 700w, https:\/\/gollypolly.com\/30473\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/kid-300x216.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Every once in a while, I will have little glimpses back to my childhood.\u00a0 I think we all do.\u00a0 Some more than others, perhaps.<\/p>\n<p>A few people have very vibrant and extensive memories about their earliest days here as humans.\u00a0 At the other end of the spectrum are those who have little remembrances of youth-ish-ness.\u00a0 (Sounds like somebody sneezed.. youth-ish-ness!\u00a0 Say it with force.\u00a0 See what I mean?)<\/p>\n<p>I am mostly in-between.\u00a0 My memories are kind of scattered.\u00a0 And some are very crisp and clear\u2026 while others are hazy dazy.<\/p>\n<p>My growing up times were mostly good.\u00a0 And in comparison to some other kids\u2026 I think I really had it made.\u00a0 A little kid with plenty to eat, a safe home, in a free country, with education and health care\u2026. and the icing on the cake\u2026 two very loving parents.<\/p>\n<p>But as an adult\u2026 I will sometimes watch a little kid\u2026 and say\u2026 \u201cI wonder what on God\u2019s Green Earth they are thinking right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Like that little girl pointing and making hand gestures\u2026 and talking to a friend\u2026 who is only visible to her.\u00a0 Or the little boy\u00a0 next to that tree, doing a series of running head butts right into the bark.<\/p>\n<p>The little kid spooning ice-cream up near her forehead and letting drip down her nose\u2026 or the other young dude\u2026 who just thrust his arms up in victory over\u2026 a BIG win over something\u2026 somewhere\u2026 \u2026. somehow.<\/p>\n<p>The imagination is in full tact.\u00a0 That is what happens in the young brain.\u00a0 It sees.\u00a0 It experiences.\u00a0 It exalts.\u00a0 And quite logically, the little body follows.<\/p>\n<p>For in the moment\u2026 that moment seems incredible real.<\/p>\n<p>Einstein once said\u2026<em><strong> \u201cImagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>That man said a lot of amazing things.\u00a0 To continue\u2026. with Einstein\u2026.<br \/>\n<em><strong>\u201cThe intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A society which has forgotten the gift of the imagination.\u00a0 When we \u201cgrow up\u201d we are taught to filter out such silly thoughts\u2026. like the big one-eyed donkey galloping down the middle of the street with an apple in its mouth\u2026 and King Rachturfusen riding on its back.\u00a0 You know\u2026 the little squatty king with the turquoise robe.\u00a0 The one who tosses out candy bars wrapped in gold.\u00a0 THAT guy.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t forget the gift.<br \/>\nAs Albert also said\u2026 \u201c<em><strong>Logic will get you from A to B.
