Today is June 28.<\/p>\n

Some big things happened on this date in history.
\nI\u2019m not kidding. June 28th is like one of the top mega-history days of ALL the 365.<\/p>\n

Like how about\u00a0 in the year 1119 A.D.\u00a0 The Battle of Sarmada took place.\u00a0 It does\u2019t get any bigger than that!\u00a0 Everyone has heard of the Sarmada.\u00a0 I think it is short for Spanish Armada.\u00a0 Maybe.<\/p>\n

And here\u2019s one for my buddy Harold! \u00a0\u00a0 Slink ahead four hundred years….\u00a0 to 1524.\u00a0 In this year, the Duke of Bourbon occupies Province. Who cares about living in\u00a0 Province?\u00a0 This guy was the Duke of Bourbon.\u00a0 That\u2019s like being the Earl of Sandwich.\u00a0 Or the King of Beer.<\/p>\n

Not to mention some other notables.\u00a0 In 1820, someone thought enough to prove that the tomato is\u00a0 non-poisonous.\u00a0 This really is big.\u00a0 Think of the spaghetti, and the pizza we\u2019d be missing for all of these year.<\/p>\n

Another great tester\u2026.. let\u2019s shout it out LOUD for Gerrit Moll.\u00a0 Mr. Moll measured noise of guns on this date in 1832.\u00a0 Speak up.\u00a0 He can\u2019t hear you.<\/p>\n

On of my favorites of June 28th\u2026. In 1859\u2026. the very first dog show was held.\u00a0 It took place in Newcastle-on-Tyne, England.\u00a0 I am not sure which show it was\u2026 but I am guessing Lassie, or Rin Tin Tin.<\/p>\n

And since we are talking about England.\u00a0 In 1967\u2026. that good old Beatle George Harrison was fined \u00a36 for speeding.\u00a0 Lead-footed rocker.<\/p>\n

I almost forgot a big one.\u00a0 In 1836\u2026 President James Madison died.\u00a0 He was old.\u00a0 86.\u00a0\u00a0 He left behind his wife Dolley Madison.\u00a0 After his death\u2026 she had more free time.\u00a0 She started baking cupcakes and such\u2026.. which Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the Gang ended up eating all the time.\u00a0 Thank goodness for that.<\/p>\n

So there you have it.\u00a0 The big day in history.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But really.\u00a0 Aren\u2019t they all?<\/p>\n
