Today, I learned some interesting facts.\u00a0 Tidbits.\u00a0 Snippets. Factoids.<\/p>\n

And, for no apparent reason, I feel the need to hand them over to you.<\/p>\n

So here we go.\u00a0 Hang on to your noggin-toppers.\u00a0 This is going to be more fun than a barrel of monkeys in a The Banana Republic store.<\/p>\n

First up.<\/p>\n

Back in the day\u2026. people didn’t always say “hello” when they answered the phone.\u00a0 When the first regular phone service was established in 1878, people said “ahoy.”\u00a0\u00a0 If your name is Chip\u2026 call me.\u00a0 Chips Ahoy.<\/p>\n

Next-ish.
\nI have always loved music.\u00a0 I sing it.\u00a0 I dance to it.\u00a0 It is sometimes in my head\u2026when I don\u2019t want it there.\u00a0 Like when you hear the theme song for The Brady Bunch\u2026 and then you can\u2019t get rid of it.\u00a0 But that has nothing to do with what I learned to day\u2026.. which is\u2026..\u00a0 \u201cThe first single issued by singer-songwriter Cat Stevens was titled “I Love My Dog.”\u00a0 I love Cat Stevens\u2019 music.\u00a0 \u00a0 (Like.. \u201cCan\u2019t Keep It In.\u201d and \u201cIf You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out.\u201d)\u00a0 The bottom line is…. Cat must love Dogs.<\/p>\n

Thirdly.
\nSome people like to show others that they have\u00a0 double-jointed-abilities.\u00a0\u00a0 I think they mostly like to gross people out\u2026 with bending their fingers way back over their hands and such.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But get this. No matter how flexible a person is, there is no such thing as being \u201cdouble jointed.”<\/p>\n

Most of these \u201ccontortionists\u201d suffer from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.\u00a0 The Syndrome affects the collagen in connective tissue\u2026. which normally helps tissues resist deformation.\u00a0\u00a0 So. In fact\u2026 these folks are suffering from a deformation.\u00a0 Who would have guessed?\u00a0 But you can let them know the next time they start doing party tricks.<\/p>\n

Four. Tee. Fide.
\nMany artificial color additives are prohibited by law.\u00a0 At least, in theory.\u00a0 So.\u00a0 Farmers will add marigold petals to their chicken feed as a natural color enhancer.\u00a0 These flowers help to give their egg yolks that sunny, yellow hue.\u00a0 I just bought eggs today, from my favorite chicken farmers.\u00a0 They were pullet eggs, as a matter of fact.\u00a0 But I didn\u2019t know to ask about the marigolds.\u00a0 I\u2019ll inquire next time.\u00a0 Sunny side up.<\/p>\n

Five.\u00a0 Like Five for Five at Arby\u2019s.\u00a0 But wait.\u00a0 Wrong roast beef.<\/p>\n

This is all about two all beef patties.\u00a0\u00a0 Now, you know, I love a good burger.\u00a0 Yet. Only one McDonald\u2019s in the world has turquoise arches. Those fashion-minded officials in Sedona, Arizona, thought that yellow would clash with the natural red rock.\u00a0 I love Sedona too. However, I didn\u2019t see the turquoise arches the last time I was there. Come to think of it though.. I didn\u2019t eat at McDonald\u2019s either.<\/p>\n

So that\u2019s it for Show and Tell tonight.\u00a0 I guess it is a good thing to do, on a rainy night.<\/p>\n

Or you could call someone, while listening to Cat Stevens, and cracking your knuckles.. right before you eat your eggs and Big Mac.\u00a0 All in a days\u2019 work.<\/p>\n
