Push through it.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, that is just what you have to do.\u00a0 Call it what you will.\u00a0 The old nose to the grindstone.\u00a0 The shoulder to the wheel.\u00a0 Good old fashioned elbow grease.\u00a0 Gumption. Tenacity.\u00a0 Or sometimes, even just hanging on by the skin of you teeth.<\/p>\n

Okay.\u00a0 Just a moment here.\u00a0 I have to shoot down another path while I am thinking of it.\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 One of my infamous segues.<\/p>\n

I watch two game shows.\u00a0 Wheel of Fortune, and, Jeopardy.\u00a0 Whenever I get the chance, really.\u00a0 Some nights it makes me feel smart. Other nights\u2026 pretty dang dumb.\u00a0 Either way… I like to watch.\u00a0 But one evening \u2026 the puzzle on The Wheel was\u2026 \u201cNose to the Grindstone.\u201d\u00a0 It was \u201cCollege Night Competition\u201d or something.\u00a0 They had all the letters except for the \u201cG\u201d I think.\u00a0 Maybe not the \u201cO\u201d either.\u00a0 Nonetheless.\u00a0\u00a0 They couldn\u2019t get it!\u00a0 Those kids had never heard the phrase\u2026 Nose to the Grindstone.<\/p>\n

I think that may say a thing or two for younger generations.\u00a0 I guess now they just say they had to bust @ss or something.\u00a0\u00a0 Anyway\u2026.<\/p>\n

Back to the topic.\u00a0 Wait. Wait.\u00a0 One more sidetrack.\u00a0 My brother made the dresses Vanna White wore…. when The Wheel was in Seattle, WA, not too long ago.\u00a0 I love my brother.\u00a0 He is so snappy like that.\u00a0 I can’t sew on a button… but he is some kind of wizard with a needle and thread.<\/p>\n

Okay. Now really.\u00a0\u00a0 Back to the topic.<\/p>\n

Lately…. HERE on this project…..\u00a0 I have been feeling stagnated.\u00a0 Blocked. Stale. Clogged up.\u00a0 And\u2026 obstructed.\u00a0\u00a0 There are times when the topics just flow.\u00a0 But lately, it has been a real stretch.\u00a0\u00a0 So this morning, I decided to hang it up.\u00a0 Blog no more.\u00a0 Once and for all.<\/p>\n

By midday I was visiting my Mom.\u00a0 I read our Horoscopes to her everyday.\u00a0 Mine talked about moving great distances just a mile at time.\u00a0 Pushing through the feelings of frustration and such.\u00a0\u00a0 My Mom sat there quietly for a while\u2026 then she pointed her finger right at me and said\u2026 \u201cTHAT has to do with your writing.\u00a0 You need to stick to it.\u00a0 Push through it.\u00a0 Find interesting topics and write about them.\u201d (Another sidebar.\u00a0 Most days, Mom thinks I am a farmer.\u00a0 Other days, I am a budding cartoonist.\u00a0 And still others, I am\u00a0 some sort of computer programmer.)\u00a0 She proceeded to give me about \u201c40 interesting topics\u201d to write about.\u00a0 However\u2026.. she was repeating herself about every third subject or so.\u00a0 I wrote them all down.\u00a0 All four repeats …. times ten.<\/p>\n

So here I am tonight.\u00a0 Once again, \u201cpushing\u201d through.\u00a0 My nose hurts from the dang grindstone, and my shoulder is tired from the wheel.\u00a0 In fact\u2026 I will have to tell you\u2026 there is no skin left on my teeth.<\/p>\n

But I think Mom, and my lucky stars are right.\u00a0\u00a0 There are a lot of interesting topics.\u00a0 Endless, in fact.\u00a0 I just have to walk that walk, one mile at a time.\u00a0 One push at a time.<\/p>\n
