Here\u2019s the thing.\u00a0 Some people get the short end of the stick.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Some of us are good cooks, others\u2026 not so much.\u00a0 Whatever the deal\u2026 our talents sure do vary.\u00a0 There are good and bad at everything\u2026.. painters,\u00a0 athletes, writers, singers, doctors, mathematicians\u2026.. and even fathers.<\/p>\n

Yep.\u00a0 Today was Father\u2019s Day. And it is true. \u00a0 Some of us have really good Dads.\u00a0 Others\u2026. are born with pretty crappy Fathers.<\/p>\n

I feel very blessed that I lucked out in this department.\u00a0 My Dad was pretty amazing\u2026 in a whole lot of ways.\u00a0 I could go on and on about him\u2026 how smart, and sweet, and helpful he was.\u00a0 How loving and caring\u2026 and totally present\u2026 in all his kids\u2019 lives.<\/p>\n

He totally rocked\u2026 WAY before people did things like \u201cTotally Rock.\u201d<\/p>\n

But one of his greatest qualities was his sense of humor.\u00a0 My Mom says that is one of the big reasons she fell in love with Dad.\u00a0 He had a cute way about him\u2026 and he had a pun for every occasion.<\/p>\n

So\u2026 in honor of my Dear Dad\u2026 on Father\u2019s Day\u2026 a small arsenal of puns.. on subjects he knew about.\u00a0 So.\u00a0 First my remembrance… and then the pun.<\/p>\n

My Dad loved dogs.\u00a0 He had a little dog named Petty when he was a kid. He told great stories about his time with his little pal.
\nA 3 legged dog walks into a saloon in the Old West. He slides up to the bar and announces:\u00a0 I am looking for the man who shot my Paw.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Dad would do fun things with us\u2026 like take us to the Zoo.
\n5000 hares have escaped from the zoo. The police are combing the area.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

He loved poetry.\u00a0 Dad used to recite entire poems by Edgar Allan Poe.\u00a0 They were long.\u00a0 It was impressive.
\nA backward poet writes inverse.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Dad was a stickler for things being clean and neat.
\nA bacteria walked into a bar and the bartender said, \u2018We don\u2019t serve bacteria in this place.\u2019 The bacteria said, \u2018But I work here, I\u2019m staph.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

He rode a bike.\u00a0 Right up until the time he got sick.
\nA bicycle can\u2019t stand on its own because it is two tired.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think Dad was color blind\u2026 but sometimes he acted like it.
\n A boating accident between the yacht, Red Dawn, and the schooner, Blue Lagoon, left the survivors marooned.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

He loved to read.\u00a0 And write.
\n A book just fell on my head. I\u2019ve only got myshelf to blame.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

He was skinny.
\n A cardboard belt would be a waist of paper.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

He fixed everything around the house.
\n A carpenter must have been here. I saw dust.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

He was funny.\u00a0 And awesome.
\n A clown decided to retire and hand over the business to his son. His son said, \u2018I don\u2019t know dad, those are big shoes to fill\u2019.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I miss him.\u00a0 Somebody…. send in the clowns.<\/p>\n
