This is a Friday.\u00a0 In June.\u00a0 2014.<\/p>\n

Time flies when you are having fun.\u00a0 I first met my friend Lynn when I was about 8 years old.\u00a0 We played softball, at North Riverdale Little League.\u00a0 We\u2019ve been true\u00a0 friends ever since.\u00a0 From silly childhood experiences\u2026 through crazy college road trips to Indiana University\u2026 to the adulthood ups and downs.\u00a0 So\u2026 more than 40 years in all\u2026 those are moments in time I would never trade away.<\/p>\n

I met Lisa sometime during the mid to late 80s.\u00a0 I can totally remember the party\u2026. it was at an apartment complex in Dayton.\u00a0 She seemed very quite and very smart.\u00a0 Through the years our friendship has grown and grown…. into one I will always cherish in my heart.<\/p>\n

Today I went to their wedding.<\/p>\n

I cried.\u00a0 Happiness tears.\u00a0 Tears of being overwhelmed.\u00a0 Tears of glad goodness.<\/p>\n

The day was beautiful all the way around.\u00a0 Great ceremony, celebration, food\u2026 terrific company, weather, environment\u2026 and more.\u00a0 We even had good dogs at the wedding.<\/p>\n

They are a great blessing in my life.\u00a0 I am thankful.<\/p>\n

I have a lot of beautiful blessings in my life.\u00a0 Friends. Family.\u00a0 Beings with paws.\u00a0 A good life with health and happiness and wellness.\u00a0\u00a0 So much fine fortune and kindness in my world.\u00a0 And\u2026..\u00a0 The dearest of these…. is my heart song.\u00a0 My kindred spirit.\u00a0 My one true connection in my spirit.\u00a0 My center.\u00a0 My love.<\/p>\n

Oh sure, I am a big sap tonight.\u00a0 A wedding and too many Diet Cokes will do that to a girl.\u00a0 Not to mention the Chicken Dance.<\/p>\n

But.\u00a0 For those of you who do not understand, or think this is wrong\u2026. I can only say this.\u00a0 My friends don\u2019t want to worship in anyone\u2019s church, or have any one\u00a0 religion give them holy blessings.\u00a0 They simply want to get married.\u00a0 They love each other.\u00a0 Just like so many other human beings in the world… they wish to have equal rights.<\/p>\n

And if you still don\u2019t quite get it\u2026 well\u2026 I guess it is sort of like being left-handed.\u00a0 There is nothing wrong with left-handed people.\u00a0 They are just a minority\u2026 and they were born that way.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The nuns can try and try to beat it out of\u00a0 them\u2026.. but to no avail.\u00a0 People have no real choice in their left-handedness.<\/p>\n

Just like any one of us…. you are you or you.\u00a0 We don\u2019t have a choice about who we like and dislike.\u00a0 We simply know it when it happens.<\/p>\n

I hope some day\u2026\u00a0 we will all find a way to figure out that people are just people\u2026. all over this wide world.\u00a0 Or maybe…. they are simply sitting right next to you.\u00a0 Left hands and all.<\/p>\n
