It was a cold and dank Thursday.\u00a0 Around 11:23 in the morning.\u00a0 There had been a heavy fog since daybreak, on Bennygood Commons.\u00a0 You could scarcely see your paw in front of your face.\u00a0 Let alone\u2026 your brand new wheel of Old Cheese.<\/p>\n

This was a problem for Carl, the Queen\u2019s finest mouse.\u00a0 He had promised to bring her a nice piece of Old Cheese from the his family\u2019s Cheesery.\u00a0 And indeed he did.\u00a0 But as he was wheeling it toward the Queen\u2019s Big Palace\u2026. he faced before him\u2026 the Hills of Bennygood Commons.\u00a0 Steep hills.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t quite know how he would ever get the wheel over all the ups and downs.\u00a0 But he gave it a go\u2026 and he pushed and he pulled and he huffed and he puffed.\u00a0 To no avail.\u00a0 There was no good way for him to move this cheese wheel by himself.\u00a0 It was much, much too big.<\/p>\n

Then he remembered what his Mamma Mouse told him a long time ago.\u00a0 \u201cYou don\u2019t really ever doing anything in life\u2026 all by yourself.\u00a0 Somewhere, somehow\u2026. someone has helped you along the way.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And there he had it.<\/p>\n

Carl\u2019s best friend was Doris\u2026 the Cook of the Town.\u00a0 She was a good mouse.. and would do anything for Carl.\u00a0 So he went to her hole in the wall of town\u2026 and asked Doris the Cook if she could help.\u00a0 \u201cOf course I can Carl.\u00a0 I have a helicopter out back\u2026 which I use for the Grilled Cheese deliveries.\u00a0 We shall fly the cheese wheel over the town and hover directly above the palace.\u00a0 There, we shall lower the cheese.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was a great plan and they did just that.\u00a0 But\u2026 just as they were nearing the palace walls\u2026 a great storm blew in.\u00a0 Doris held tight to the steering stick on the Chopper.\u00a0 She would not be moved.\u00a0 They swerved wide and low and up again.\u00a0 Finally, she hovered right over the courtyard and lowered the cheese.\u00a0 Carl cheered and shimmied down the rope. \u201cThank you Doris.\u00a0 You are a true friend, and I shall buy you a Strawberry Parfait tonight!\u201d<\/p>\n

So. The Queen got her Old Cheese.\u00a0 Carl kept his promise, as the Queen\u2019s finest mouse.\u00a0 And Doris enjoyed Strawberry Parfait that night after she closed the diner.\u00a0 All\u2019s well that ends well.<\/p>\n

Which just goes to show you\u2026\u00a0 You Can\u2019t BUDGE a COOK from her HOVER.<\/p>\n
